Dédicace réussie à la librairie Cosmopolite d'Angoulême, samedi matin. Elric fait désormais des dessins en couleurs qui en jettent méchamment. On a bossé 1h et demie sans s'arrêter. Polo Chon et Caroline étaient contents !

Sal Khan has interesting ideas about what constitutes riveting dinner conversation.

At the moment, he’s partial to “mind-blowing” similarities between Greek, Latin, Germanic languages and ancient Sanskrit as well as the fact that Iran and Ireland are the only countries with names that mean “land of the Aryans.”
“That’s still my favorite thing to share in conversations,” said the founder of Khan Academy, a free, online learning platform serving 15 million people a month. “The other thing is you can get hypothermia (and die) in 80-degree water.”
Khan smiled.
“I’m a nerd,” said Khan, who is a nominee for the 2018 Visionary of the Year award sponsored by The Chronicle. The winner of the award will receive a $25,000 grant that can be applied to the cause of his or her choice.
In Silicon Valley, nerds like Khan — with companies whose users number in the many millions — are often billionaires. While Khan isn’t poor, he falls well short for any list featuring big-money moguls in tech.
He probably could have been rich off the idea, but when he came up with the vision for Khan Academy, he wanted it to be free.
The mission — a free, world-class education to anyone, anywhere.
That sole mission of the company, unchanged since he founded it in 2008, is plastered on the Khan Academy website as well as the walls of his Mountain View headquarters.

Ce circuit touristique est commenté, sous la plume d'Etienne Rouziès, par deux voyageurs dont je me garderai de vous dévoiler l'identité. PIQUE-NIQUE EN L’HONNEUR DU SOLEIL :Les Amis de Lizères, avec le soutien de la région Nord-Pas-de-Calais-Picardie, a le plaisir de vous inviter au pique-nique présenté par l’artiste Dove Perspicacius, en clôture de sa résidence réalisée à Lizières. Dimanche 4 février de 11h00 à 17h00

Nous sommes ravis de vous présenter l’artiste Claire Wallois, invitée en résidence à Lizières au début de l’année 2017. Diplomée de l’école des Arts Décoratifs de Strasbourg en 2013, Claire Wallois forme Dove Perspicacius en 2010, en collaboration avec Colombe Ferté-Fogel. L’idée est d’explorer une façon mythique de vivre le monde, transfigurer les évènements sur une échelle épique. Chacun vit, parfois plusieurs fois, une apocalypse ou une résurrection. Etre Dalila coupant les cheveux de Samson en tondant sa pelouse enrichit et intensifie un acte anodin. Il s’agit d’accepter la valeur de ce mode d’interprétation de la réalité partagé par tous. Il n’entre pas en conflit avec le rationnel. Cette réalité augmentée – où les plans du vécu et du sacré sont en connexion permanente – est la matière première à laquelle elle donne forme. Le travail de Dove Perspicacius est conduit par une certaine idée du rôle de l’art : c’est la réalisation de l’idéal. Par leur puissance ou leur ressemblance à des archétypes, certains évènements (de notre vie ou de celle de nos proches) se relient d’emblée à la sphère du mythe. Elle les a commémorés en peintures, en broderies, en statuettes… Ces objets ont été regroupés dans des autels pour former un grand récit. L’utilisation de formes empruntées au sacré – des figures et des codes esthétiques- transfère à ces objets un pouvoir divin. Il ne s’agit pas de croyances, mais plutôt d’une conception qui invite à la célébration. Au programme  Ce pique-nique, tout comme l’oeuvre de Dove Perspicacius célèbrera tout particulièrement l’Eté et le Soleil car «Quand les jours ressemblent aux nuits, sans éclaircie à espérer, qui peut croire que l’été nous reviendra? ». En attendant cette période de fête et d’aventures rendons lui hommage ensemble. Réjouissances gustatives, ateliers participatifs et activités artistiques spécialement conçues pour l’occasion. Informations et réservations par ici.

Un grand merci à tous ceux qui sont venus écouter, échanger, débattre, voir, et « ce nourrir » lors du premier Banquet philosophique de Lizières qui s’est tenu à La Colonie, à Paris. Ce Banquet#1 réunissait notamment Béatrice Josse, directrice du centre d’art Le Magasin à Grenoble, Philippe Gasnier, psychiatre, Valérie Le Huche, fondatrice de l’Art du mouvement, et Ramuntcho Matta, artiste pluridisciplinaire et fondateur de Lizières. A D Winans: Charles Bukovski ve Yeraltı Devrimi

 

 

The Turkish translation of my book TheHoly Grail: Charles Bukokwski and the Second Coming Revolution is completed and will shortly see publication. The book is 296 pages

(in Turkish only) and will be published in an edition of 2000 copies. Over the last ten years, 20 poems of mine (and an essay on the San Francisco Beat Scene) have been published in Turkey. The publisher, translator and I will be working on a compilation of my poems next year and I’m hoping for a bilingual edition. Very pleased to have a book of mine done is this large an edition.

AD Winans: On My 82nd Birthday

Today I turn 82 and am making some early decisions in regard to poetry. I have been writing and publishing poetry for 55 years and as I have often said, “My poetry and my life are one and the same, they can’t be separated. With this said, I am making some decisions regarding poetry in 2018 and beyond.
I have given countless poetry readings over the many decades, but beginning this year I plan on giving just one paid reading a year.
It has become harder getting to poetry readings of others and I don’t drive at night anymore, so to my friends, do not feel slighted if I am not at a poetry reading you are giving. I may make an occasional exception if the reading is during the day and not far from where I live.
I’ll be primarily submitting work to a handful of print journals that I have a long-standing relationship with although I am always open to sending a poem when asked for one.
As many of you know, I had a bilingual book of poems published in Germany in December 2017 as well as a book on Charles Bukowski published in Turkey. I just completed a book of Selected Poems that will be published in Turkey next year.
For the remainder of the year I’ll be putting together a book of love poems for publication in the UK and concentrating on the last of the Crazy John Poems series.   This will give me 65 published books and chapbooks of poetry and prose. This is my last planned book.   I may still write an occasional poem when inspired to do so, but have published everything I want to publish in book form.
The exception is compilation of works already done for publication by my friends in Turkey, Germany, and the UK.
I never expected to live this long. It has been a wild and rewarding ride. The noted authors and musicians I have met are amazing and the number of loyal friends I have is deeply appreciated.
