Les associations qui soutiennent les artistes émergents sont rares en France, et il importe de les soutenir lorsqu'elles sont en difficulté.Triangle France est une association basée à Marseille qui œuvre de façon unique, depuis presque vingt ans, aux côtés de la jeune scène française et internationale.

J'entretiens une relation particulière avec cette structure qui a contribué à l'éclosion d'artistes qui me sont chers, comme par exemple Simon Starling, avec qui j'ai une histoire particulière.

La journée sera animée par Julie Borgeaud, artiste et commissaire d'expositions, et Michel Pellaton, artiste suisse invité en résidence à LIZIERES et exposé à sometimeStudio.

Rendez-vous dès 11h au château d’Epaux-Bézu pour un pique-nique "Quand les nomades passent en Suisse", autour d'une déclinaison

de spécialités culinaires suisses, tziganes et ashkénazes improvisée par Julie Borgeaud.

Après le déjeuner, l'artiste Michel Pellaton invitera le public à participer à sa performance "Voyages à travers la bobine".

Pour l'occasion, il vous est demandé d'apporter avec vous un petit objet ou un morceau de papier renvoyant à la notion de voyage qui viendra prendre place dans l'oeuvre réalisée lors de la performance.

L’après-midi se poursuivra par une conférence intitulée "Quand la pensée phile en Suisse" du philosophe Frédéric Thuin, avec la participation du parolier suisse Dionys Décrevel.

DIS_CONTINUUM est un travail en cours, sur la relecture et le recyclage d’images liées à des oeuvres picturales. Ce projet est né d’une volonté, suite à la (re)découverte d’un dictionnaire de la peinture que j’avais acquis quand j’étais étudiant, d’interpréter au fil du temps l‘his- toire de cet art.Formé aux outils de créations numériques, j’ai décidé que cette interprétation se ferait par le biais des lo- giciels (PAO) qui utilisent toute une palette d’outils liés à la peinture et au dessin (gomme, ciseaux, traits, lignes, couleurs etc), et des réseaux Internet qui offrent un accès aux reproductions d’oeuvres d’art.Les oeuvres ont été choisies suivant deux critères, l’ordre alphabétique du dictionnaire, qui comporte plus de sept cents pages, et un choix plus subjectif d’une vingtaine de peintres (de Manet à Picasso en passant par Hockney) qui m’ont marqué personnellement et artistiquement.

A.D. Winans: baseball poem

For Joe Sprinz

He coached the old San Francisco Seals
baseball tem
a former catcher who was part of a fool stunt
to catch a baseball dropped from an airplane
at the San Francisco World Fair


The ball hit the ground bounced up
and broke his jaw
he was never again the same ball player
his major league dreams shattered
like his jaw
but he would come regularly
to Golden Gate Park
and slow pitch for two teams of kids
he put together


He had a son with one crippled arm
who played the outfield flawlessly
he would catch the ball in his glove
drop the glove transfer the ball
to his good hand and throw it back
as good as any of us kids
with two good hands


My boyhood dream was to play for the Seals
to make it to the big leagues
like old Joe had dreamed to do
and I was thrilled to sit on the team bench
as his invited guest
to shy to ask other players for their autograph


How magic it was to watch those players
field ground balls during practice
hear them chatter, “huba huba,”
as vendors in the stands yelled out
”Peanuts Crackjack, get your
Peanuts and Crackerjack here.”

The grass smelled of heaven
and there was no pollen in the air
old Joe at the batting cage giving
batting hints
Lefty O’Doul the manager
eying the action like a hawk

The game seems slower now
the heroes less heroic
no double-headers
no players mingling with fans
but in the summer heat
in a tight game
the magic reappears

The umpire sweeps off home plate
and I see old Joe there
at the batting cage
Dino Restelli shagging fly balls
in the outfield
and the crowd rising in the home half
of the seventh inning singing
”Take Me Out To The Ballgame.”

Old Joe had no job when
the old Triple “A” Coast League
became a ghost
he died in his eighties working
as a doorman somewhere
in the city




but he’ll always be my hero
and baseball should be ashamed
for not taking care of their own

(EMBRUNS D’EXIL TRADUITS DU SILENCE )–

Claude Pelieu was Here ! (1934-2002)

1967 – une bombe littéraire explose dans Paris : l’énorme CAHIER DE L’HERNE n°9 –BURROUGHS / PELIEU / KAUFMANN (textes). “Avec Léon Bloy, William Burroughs et Claude Pélieu, nous n’attendons plus à Paris que les Tartares et le Saint-Esprit” conclue la présentation de Dominique de Roux. La poésie française (francophone) ne sera jamais plus exactement la même. Orage télépathique, poésie électrique, voyages de l’autre coté… “Corps béants, faut-il vous dire que dans les fenêtres roses du temps fluide, je vous vois encore en retour de flamme? “. Après sa fuite aux USA dés 1963, Pélieu découvre l’accélérateur de particules où s’inventer définitivement. Correspondances, mail-art, collages émaillent la suractivité de la décennie. Rumeur impersonnelle, le cut-up est un passage forcé pour déshabiter l’origine, et continuer avec l’aube. Si la méthode cut-up est efficace, Claude Pélieu s’en dégage dés la fin des années 60 pour atteindre à l’évidence de Dust Bowl Motel Poems, ou de Pommes Bleues Electriques (Bourgois, 1979). “Quand plus rien ne semble possible le réel provoque des mirages”. Ses livres sortent en rafales au Soleil Noir et chez Bourgois de 1969 à 1979 cependant qu’il ne cesse de traduire avec Mary Beach des oeuvres de WS Burroughs, Allen Ginsberg, Bob Kaufmann… au point de devenir le passeur de la Beat Generation en France. Suite à un accident de santé au début des années 80, il affirme abandonner l’écriture, sans jamais cesser une activité de collagiste. Retour à la poésie durant les années 90 (Studio Réalité, Starquake…) et jusqu’à sa mort qu’il dévisage ultimement avec La Crevaille (2002). Rien ne semble plus séparer Mary Beach et Claude Pélieu de 1962 à 2002 dont voici quelques-uns des collages 90's ainsi qu’une exposition de ses principaux livres aujourd’hui épuisés… Mary Beach est partie en 2006… GONE AWAY IN THE INVISIBLE MORNING...

Quelques nouvelles de l'éclat

Bonjour

Après un petit rappel des épisodes précédents (Farazzi, Tronti, Marazzi, Thucydide, Spinoza, les Maximes des pères), qui sont toujours en librairie en attendant l'été, paraît ce mois-ci, en un petit volume bleu et gris de 160 pages, l'article "Encyclopédie" de Denis Diderot, « pièce maîtresse de la machine de guerre de la pensée nouvelle contre les dogmes et les obscurantismes » que constitue l'Encyclopédie elle-même. Manière de fêter dignement un bel anniversaire à Denis pour ses trois cents ans!

Autre anniversaire, celui de la disparition de Charles Mopsik (1956-2003) il y a dix ans maintenant, alors qu'il venait à peine de nous remettre les premières épreuves corrigées de son livre, Le sexe des âmes. Aléas de la différence sexuelle dans la Cabale, Le livre prend aujourd'hui une dimension toute particulière et s'inscrit dans le débat sur ... le mariage pour tous, y apportant une contribution non négligeable: un soutien inattendu des textes du Talmud et de la Cabale à ce mariage qu'une frange minoritaire et bruyante de la société française refuse parce qu'elle se recroqueville sur ses vieilles soupes rancies*. La « Bibliothèque des fondations » accueille son seizième titre avec ces Passeurs d'Orient, sous la direction de Michel Espagne et de Perrine Simon-Nahum. Issu d'un colloque qui eut lieu au Musée d'Art et d'Histoire du judaïsme en 2012 et enrichi de contributions nouvelles, le volume est consacré à la place que prirent "les juifs dans l’orientalisme", contredisant le sens commun qui s'est accroché à ce terme depuis la parution du livre aussi célèbre qu'approximatif d'Edward Said.

Sinon, la nouvelle édition enrichie du mythique bolo'bolo vient d'arriver ! Bolo'bolo a trente ans! L'anonymus P.M. a rédigé une nouvelle préface pour cet anniversaire et le livre est consultable en lyber avant de le trouver en librairie à partir du 3 mai.

Merci de votre fidélité. Faites connaître l'éclat. Allez faire un tour dans les librairies (ça fait combien de temps que vous êtes devant cet ordinateur?)!

THE POETRY GAME

When I was publishing

Second Coming
I would get telephone calls
From poets late into the night

Some of the callers

Had high pitched voices
Some so shrill
I could barely make out
A word they said

Some wanted me to publish them

Some were angry because
I hadn’t published them

Some were willing to barter

Promising me a reading alongside
A prominent poet
At a local or international
Poetry reading

Some female poets were willing
To share my bed

For a nigh or two
All for publishing a single poem

These poets all had

One thing in common
They didn’t place much value
On themselves

They complained

The grants were rigged
They blamed the establishment
They blamed other poets
They blamed the fates
Not one of them blamed themselves

Most of them never worked

A blue-collar job
Seeing poetry as a Holy thing
Too Holy to get dirt under
Their fingernails

If these poets
Had spent half as much time
Writing as they spent complaining
They might have published
A solid poem or two

I never published these poets
And with the passing of time
I’d see their names in print
In this magazine or that magazine
And not long afterwards
I’d see the name of the editors
Appear in a magazine or anthology
Edited by one of these very same poet

Many long years have passed since
My publishing days
But I notice the game has not changed
Only he names of the players

Disappearing Act

The impact of naturalism, a literary approach invented by Zola and especially significant in the field of the novel through his American “disciples” Crane, Norris, and Dreiser, is well acknowledged and recognized.

Not so well recognized, but equally important, is naturalistic theatre: this was a style that also originated with Zola, but its progeny was more international and its significance more radical and insurrectionary than in the less “spectacular” genre of fiction.

The Theatre of Naturalism : Disappearing Act establishes the incipiently revolutionary context (between the Paris Communist Commune, crushed in 1871, and the successful Bolshevik insurrection of October 1917) - more or less foregrounded or in the background of works by Zola, Strindberg, Ibsen, Hauptmann, Synge, Shaw, and Tolstoy, focused especially on issues of class struggle and class war, as well as the prospects and possibilities of challenging the hegemony of the ruling orders. Especially in regard to later theatre, for instance the “hyper-naturalism” of The Brig (Living Theatre) of Kenneth Brown, and of plays by Arnold Wesker and David Storey—Philip Beitchman frequently invokes themes culled from recent French theory, particularly Derrida’s deconstruction and Baudrillard’s ideas about simulation. The The Theatre of Naturalism will open up new perspectives for anyone interested in theory or theatre, whether scholars or the wider theatre-loving performing public.

Philip Beitchman, a writer in residence in the Library’s Wertheim Study, received his PhD in comparative literature from The City University of New York and teaches world literature at Medgar Evers College, CUNY. He is the author of I Am a Process with No Subject (1988); Alchemy of the Word: Cabala of the Renaissance (1998); and The View from Nowhere : Essays in Literature, Mysticism and Philosophy (2001). His many translations from the French include works by Jean Baudrillard (Simulations, Fatal Strategies) and Paul Virilio (Aesthetics of Disappearance).
