Uncut Magazine says that this is “an extraordinary record,” and that it's “the next chapter in what has been a compelling last decade of music making.” Crazy Horse guitarist Frank "Poncho" Sampedro told Rolling Stone that Psychedelic Pill is all about the band "jamming and having lots of fun", resulting in over 85 minutes of music, including the 27 minute opening track “Drifting Back”.
